Re: Game Off at Histon
Feck's sake, Cambridge's home game against the might of Chippenham managed to go ahead and isn't Histon only a couple of miles from Cambridge? I'm sick of us always being drawn away against some craphouse nobodies that no-one's ever heard of. I wouldn't have minded at all if we'd played and lost today - I don't give a flying feck about the FA Cup and a defeat today would've been relegated to the minor newspaper columns what with Nottm Forest having knocked out the richest club in the world and piling pressure on Sparky (he may even be sacked by Monday after this debacle). I wouldn't be surprised if our re-arranged match does get shown live now, which would be disastrous if we get beaten. Really pissed off.

Re: Game Off at Histon
I thought it rather funny Histon ordered their players to go and play a reserve game instead at 12.20 pm.
Radio 5 live announced that more or less straight away and they couldnt believe what had happened
I think this was called off by pressure from the home team. Got a funny feeling about it, but i thought it really strange that their players were ordered to go and play in the reserves in a "league" game.
Perhaps they are thinking 3 points for the reserves is worth more than a third round tie against the best passing team in the UK

Have a look at this chief, http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/7809692.stm seems they reckon we pressurised the ref to call it off. Yeah, seems likely doesn't it - I can really imagine Roberto wanting another trip to the arse end of beyond at the other end of the country on a freezing January evening. Mouthy gobshites.

Re: Game Off at Histon
Just been reading a Histon forum (there's something I never thought I'd type!) and it seems that they'll have their 1st choice keeper and another 1st teamer back for the re-arranged game. Seems their manager is rather glad that it's been put back. http://histonfootball.proboards104.com/index.cgi?board=chat

Re: Game Off at Histon
Well having just listened to the radio interviews i am brought to the conclusion "what a bunch of whinging , whining pricks" but, jut how much truth is in his interview? Was jonesey really in the year of the ref? was our players safety being put at risk.
Damn, i watched Blackpool V Wolves and the pitch temp there went down to beyond -3, but the game still went on , and what a game it was. Anyone who saw that has top admit that that was a good advert for the championship.

Re: Game Off at Histon
It reminds me of the Carlisle game a few years back, when their pitch was the only one in the country to have more permafrost tundra than Greenland!!

Re: Game Off at Histon
I think Roberto will put out a much changed team for the cup tie with some of the big guns on the bench. We really don't want any more injuries after Bodde and Painter got crocked. It comes in between Burnley and Reading and to be honest I would sacrifice a cup shock to get some points (and a win) in the league.
Re: Game Off at Histon
just woken up turn on sky news (aus version) then look up the fa cup scores...
Man City 0 - 3 Forest
then i see the histon game P - P.....
