Re: Favourite War Movie?
My girlfriend .
Men of Harlech stop your dreaming
Can't you see their spear points gleaming
See their warrior pennants streaming
To this battlefield
Men of Harlech stand ye steady
It cannot be ever said ye
For the battle were not ready
Welshmen never yield
From the hills rebounding
Let these war cries sounding
Summon all at Cambria's call
The mighty force surrounding
Men of Harlech on to glory
This will ever be your story
Keep these burning words before ye
Welshmen will not yield
Men of Harlech stop your dreaming
Can't you see their spear points gleaming
See their warrior pennants streaming
To this battlefield
Men of Harlech stand ye steady

Re: Favourite War Movie?
There are so many cracking war films to choose from it's difficult to choose one.
Totally agree with Cornellyjack that Kelly's Heroes is class and that Sutherland is brilliant, "Woof, woof...that's my other dog impersonation." There are several really good Vietnam films. Personally Platoon, Full Metal Jacket and Apocalypse Now would be my top three. The Longest Day is an epic.
There's a really good Bosnian film about the Bosnian War in the 90s called No Man's Land which is well worth a look if you can be arsed with the subtitles. The Guns of Navarone and The Dambusters are old classics, so too Ice Cold In Alex and The Spy Who Came In From the Cold, but my all-time favourite has to be Where Eagles Dare. It's non-stop action from start to finish and it stars Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood (as co-star, which didn't sit very well with him until he was offered £800k...back in 1968!!). What more can you ask for!

Got to be Braveheart for me. It really makes you hate England after watching it! I like some Vietnam films like Full Metal Jacket and Platoon.

Re: Favourite War Movie?
Even tho it's not a film I love watching Band of Brothers.
I don't really watch a huga amount of War films because I have been known to get upset, but Saving Private Ryan, Wind talkers, Black hawk down, Schindlers list, the pianist and Jarhead.
Would like to see a couple of others but never been that bothered.
